Overglaze photolithographic printed decoration in CERAMICA CH

Andreas Heege, 2023

Photolithography was a process that was perfected in the mid-19th century and involved transferring a photograph onto a lithographic stone (fine-grained limestone) using a thin film. The same technique could be used to print coloured glaze onto a paper surface, transfer the image onto a glazed ceramic surface and then fire it. From a technological point of view, overglaze photolithographic printing is similar to overglaze lithographic printing (ceramic decals).
