The abbreviation “& Co.” in commercial company names in German traditionally stands for “und Compagnie” [and company]. It refers to a corporate structure (company), which consists of a group of actors or participants that remain nameless behind the company name.
The French equivalent “& Cie.” is used in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and in France, while the English equivalent is “& Co” (and company).
In order to facilitate searching for company names using other search engines, CERAMICA CH does not translate the abbreviation but uses the self-designated company name in either German or French.
