The history of the potters’ workshop of the Lanz brothers at 24 Krankenhausstrasse in Thun has yet not been studied in detail. Its period of production probably covered the late 1920s.

First mention in the Oberländer Tagblatt newspaper, 4^th September 1926.

The company was registered in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce on 30^th May 1932 (SOGC 50, 1932, 1342).

Following the death of Adolf Ernst Lanz in 1975, the business was dissolved (SOGC 93, 1975, 2236, 5^th August 1975).

Despite sharing the name, the Lanz pottery in Gwatt and the potters’ workshop of the Lanz brothers in Thun were not connected.
